Moyne Villa Football Club was founded in 1977 and is named after Moyne Castle on the Galway Mayo border just north of Headford.
We have grown from a hay-shed in a field to a state-of-the-art facility with excellent pitches. The club boasts a 7 a-side artificial playing surface that is open to the public every evening and is available to anyone who wishes to start up a small team amongst friends or family.
We have two of the finest natural playing surfaces in the Galway Football League. This was recognised by the Connacht FA when we were selected to host the Galway round of the Connacht Juvenile Finals in 2014.
Having achieved this recognition we have gone from strength to strength and recently have started our Club Mark journey with our Entry Level badge being awarded to us i the summer of 2021 & our Club Mark One awarded to us in Summer 2022.
This year 2022 will see the completion of the conversion of our main pitch to a full sized 4g astro, this has been a long time in the planning and will bring so much relief to not just our club but lots of clubs nearby as matches and training will be happening all year round and waterlogged pitches will be a thing of the past.
