The Donaghpatrick Kilcoona Heritage Society are very pleased to announce that their first lecture of the year will be given by Dáibhí Ó Cróinín entitled ‘Saint Patrick and his Biographers – Ancient and Modern’. Professor Emeritus of Medieval History in UCG, Dáibhí will discuss Saint Patrick and his life, referencing original sources and some of the most recent modern publications to take an in-depth, truthful look at our patron saint and the ‘man behind the myth’.

Prof. Dáibhí Ó Cróinín is a celebrated historian with numerous publications. He is a member of the Royal Irish Academy and the Irish Manuscripts Commission, editor of Peritia, Journal of the Medieval Academy of Ireland, as well as chair of the Royal Irish Academy Dictionary of Medieval Latin from Celtic Sources.
The talk will take place at Donaghpatrick National School (H91W3Y6) in Caherlistrane and all are very welcome to join at 8pm Thursday the 13th of March in the main hall for what is set to be a fascinating lecture. Plus, of course, a cuppa and a chat after.
