Headford Community Garden is an initiative, established in 2013, for local people to come together and grow vegetables, flowers and fruit and to provide a social outlet in the town. We are local residents, with a common interest in sustainability, through gardening and growing our own vegetables. We are using the wonderful resource of the land around us. Growing our own food is better for us, for our children and for the world as a whole. We practice sustainability, pollinator protection, chemical free gardening and safe green space for the town. We usually meet on a Sunday at 12 and work for 2 hours, no experience in gardening is needed, dogs are welcome as long as you pick up after them, there is a small play area for the younger kids and the garden is completely closed in so its safe. We host events throughout the year starting with our annual Egg Hunt, a Mid-Summer picnic, various pollinator projects and The Pumkin Festival and Flax Festival in October. Other community groups are welcome to use the space as well. Please contact us if you would like to get involved.
