In celebration of AugustCraft Month 2024, today we were exhibiting a collection of circular doilies from our archive. A fitting addition we feel to set the scene and enhance our Crafternoon Tea event. Doilies are a reflection of the social history of domestic craftwork done by women and reviled by many. However today they are in a position of respect as we reflect on our foremothers and the hands that made them with love. We acknowledge their skills and ability to pass them on to the next generation. Headford Lace Project is grateful to our donors.
